T.G.I.F.

This has been a very busy week for me, but it's Friday already!  Woohoo!

As of now, I am really looking forward to playing catch up on a little bit of everything this weekend, and sleeping!

I was thinking back over this week and a few random but lovely things stand out in my memory --

I have been helping my parents clear out in preparation for a big move they have coming up next week.  This partly consisted of simply removing a lot of their cool, old unwanted stuff and transporting it to my own garage until I figure out how to repurpose it.  So, now amongst a lot of other various items, I have these two beautiful vintage trunks that I'd love to incorporate into the livable part of our house somehow.

I keep going into the garage, stopping and staring at them, pondering all the ways to use them as functional pieces.  Hmmm... I don't have it figured out just yet, but something along the lines of this  living space with the trunk and knick knacks, mirrors, iron wall hooks, mantle, etc. would make me very happy!
I LOVE this eclectic space!  So much.

After baking some Mamma Mia Balsamic Berry Brownies in honor of my mom-in-law's birthday on Tuesday of this week, I've had brownies on my mind .... pretty much nonstop.  I think these may be next on my list of recipes to try out - Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Torte.  Are you kidding me??

To compensate for all the baking & tasting I do, I am running my 5th annual 1/2 marathon in just one week!  As usual, I feel like I haven't trained enough and am not ready for it, though my bruised toes and severely blistered feet may tell me otherwise. :\ I usually look at my training runs as a huge chore, a dreaded task I can't wait to finish so I can cross it off and get on with my day.  But, now I realize an hour or more spent running is some of the best ME time I can give myself.  It makes me appreciate that no matter how much I may not want to, I'm so fortunate to have the freedom to find the time for myself, and to have a healthy body, fit and able enough to get me through it, mile after mile.

It's definitely been an adjustment for me after traveling and living abroad last year, to get back into the daily grind and join the land of the professional working class again.  One plus is that I get to play dress up everyday (which I've missed), and now actually have a reason to get out of my yoga pants and sweatshirt and into the otherwise untouched clothes in my closet. Knowing I get to have fun getting dressed for the day in the feminine, worldly, vintage-inspired clothing I have from Anthropologie literally helps me get out of bed in the mornings!

I hope everyone had a great week, and enjoys their weekend!
What little things stand out in your week and make you smile or reflect?

XOXO
